Meet Joe
A dedicated servant leader.
A father of two, husband of 19 years, and follower of Jesus Christ since age 11, Joe lives in Dublin with his wife, Jamie, and their sons, Landon and Asher. The family are members of Pine Forest Methodist Church.
Born in Toccoa, Joe’s sense of community and inclusion runs deep, shaped by his Appalachian roots and the values he learned at home. Raised by an outside salesman and a waitress, he watched his parents work hard, do the right thing, and care about the people around them. Conversations at the kitchen table often focused on the needs of others. From an early age, Joe learned that listening, serving, and helping solve problems are not just good intentions—they are responsibilities.
Those values have guided Joe throughout his life. He never missed a day of school through sixth grade and was recognized by classmates as a “Born Leader” in high school. He earned college scholarships in both football and baseball. As a college freshman, students from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds chose him to serve as class president of Tau Kappa Epsilon’s Omicron Theta chapter.
Joe’s career spans public service, broadcast journalism, radio, television sales leadership, and marketing. His work has earned recognition including Piedmont College’s Broadcaster of the Year award, Associated Press news-award nominations, DuPont Awards for CNN’s wartime news coverage, national EMS accreditation, and the American Red Cross Volunteer of the Year award in Dublin. He also became a certified public-safety clown during his public-service career—an unusual but meaningful example of his commitment to community outreach.
After nearly four years at 13WMAZ, Joe moved from media sales into on-air radio at Y96. He hosted the Classic Country Jukebox, co-hosted the morning show, and covered high-school sports, becoming known locally as “The Voice of the Irish.”
Joe’s blend of media production, community involvement, sales leadership, and communications experience led to senior management roles across Georgia: General Sales Manager at 41NBC in Macon; General Manager and General Sales Manager at FOX54 in Columbus; and Georgia market leader for Cox Media. Today, Joe operates a streaming radio station and full-service marketing agency while working full-time with Renewal by Andersen.
Joe is running because working families in Laurens and Johnson counties deserve a leader who listens, works hard, and brings people together to get results. He believes public service is not about politics or personal ambition—it is about putting faith, family, community, and common sense first.
